Quintero Brevas — tasting notes and pricing context
Quintero was founded in 1924 in Cienfuegos (not Havana — one of the few Habanos brands rolled outside the capital) and has been quietly producing accessible Cuban cigars ever since. The brand sits one notch above José L. Piedra in the budget Cuban hierarchy — Quintero uses long-filler tobacco like the premium brands, but a gentler blend and less aged wrapper that keeps the price well below Cohiba, Montecristo and Partagás territory. The Brevas is the most-traded Quintero vitola — a slim 5.4-inch by 40 ring format designed for a 30-to-45-minute smoke.
The smoke is gentle and approachable. First third opens with cedar, hay and a faint sweetness; the middle drifts into Quintero's signature creamy, slightly woody core; the last third delivers a smooth, mild finish. A box of 25 sits in the €165 to €215 range: Noblego runs around €175, Cigarworld €185, Cigarmust CHF 195 (~€205). Among the most consistently in-stock Cuban SKUs — supply outstrips demand.
