About this cigar
Bolívar Petit Coronas — tasting notes and pricing context
The Bolívar Petit Coronas is one of the strongest Cuban premium cigars at its price point — a 5.1-inch Mareva (same dimensions as a Montecristo No. 4 or Romeo Petit Coronas) but in the Bolívar factory's unapologetically forceful blend. Continuous production since the 1950s, the cigar is the entry-level Bolívar most aficionados recommend to smokers who want to understand the brand's character without committing to a full-format Belicoso or Royal Coronas. The 137mm length and slim 42 ring gauge give the cigar a tight, concentrated smoking experience: less smoke per puff than a robusto but the Bolívar profile in distilled form.
The smoke opens hard from the first puff. First third delivers black pepper, dark earth and a touch of leather; the middle settles into espresso, dark chocolate and aged cedar; the last third blooms into a thick, oily finish with cocoa and a whisper of dried fruit. Smoking time runs 35 to 45 minutes. Across Europe the Petit Coronas is one of the most price-stable Cuban SKUs because demand is steady but never hot: Noblego runs around €275 per box of 25, Cigarworld €285, Cigarmust CHF 305 (~€320 after FX), Italian licensed tabaccherie €290. The €45 absolute spread is small but on a daily-smoker SKU at this price point, it adds up across the four to five boxes a regular Bolívar smoker works through annually.
