H. Upmann Magnum 50 — tasting notes and pricing context
The Magnum 50 was added to the H. Upmann Magnum Series in 2008 to complement the existing Magnum 46 with a longer, thicker format. At 6.3 inches by a 50 ring (Habanos calls the shape Robusto Extra), it delivers H. Upmann's signature mild-medium body and creamy, cedar-led profile in a smoke that runs roughly 75 to 90 minutes — comfortably double the Magnum 46. The blend is identical: the same gentler Vuelta Abajo filler that makes H. Upmann the easiest Cuban for transitioning smokers.
The smoke profile evolves more than the Magnum 46 because of the longer format. First third opens with butter, hay and a touch of toasted almond; the middle drifts into H. Upmann's creamy cedar with a hint of honey; the last third delivers a smooth, slightly nutty finish with a touch of espresso. Smoking time runs 75 to 90 minutes. Across Europe a box of 25 sits in the €500 to €620 range: Germany's Noblego runs around €520, Cigarworld €540, Switzerland's Cigarmust CHF 580 (~€610 after FX), Italian licensed tabaccherie €555. The €110 absolute spread is moderate and the Magnum 50 is one of the more consistently-stocked H. Upmann SKUs, making it a good comparison-shopping target for regular smokers.
