Cohiba Talismán Becomes a Regular Cigar: What Habanos Announced

The Cohiba Talismán, a limited edition in 2017, is now the ninth size in Cohiba's Línea Clásica. Habanos launched it in London on 7 October 2026 to open Cohiba's 60th year. Size, packaging, the UK-only gift pack, and what it means for European availability.

In short: Habanos S.A. has made the Cohiba Talismán a permanent cigar. It was a limited edition in 2017. Now it is the ninth size in Cohiba’s Línea Clásica: 154 mm long, 54 ring gauge, sold in boxes of 10. Habanos launched it in London on 7 October 2026 as the first release of Cohiba’s 60th anniversary year. Boxes are due to reach markets worldwide gradually; a three-cigar gift pack is sold only in the UK, at a recommended £600.

What Habanos announced

In a press release dated 8 October 2026, Habanos S.A. said the Talismán joins the Línea Clásica, the first line created for Cohiba, as its ninth vitola. The cigar was first released in 2017 as an Edición Limitada.

Habanos says the tobacco comes from the San Juan y Martínez and San Luis areas of Vuelta Abajo, in Pinar del Río, and that the cigar is hand-made with long filler.

The new packaging

The Talismán comes in a new box design that Habanos says will gradually be applied to the rest of the Línea Clásica. The packaging carries an NFC tag: tap it with a phone to check the box is genuine and open what Habanos calls a digital experience. A band at the foot of the cigar shows the size name.

Where and when it’s sold

  • Boxes of 10: Habanos says availability will expand worldwide over the coming year. It gave no box price.
  • 3-cigar gift pack: UK only, at a recommended £600, about £200 a cigar. Cigar Aficionado reported the same price.

Habanos sells through importers in more than 130 territories, and each importer decides when stock arrives and at what price.

Sweden and the Nordics: the Nordic importer, Elite Trading Scandinavia (formerly Habanos Nordic), is in voluntary liquidation, and no successor has been named (our report). Habanos hasn’t said how the Nordic market will be supplied, so there is no date for the Talismán in Swedish shops.

Why London, and why now

The launch took place in London on 7 October with about 400 guests, hosted with Hunters & Frankau, Habanos’ official UK distributor, a firm founded in 1790. Habanos pointed out that earlier Cohiba launches were also held in London: the Línea 1492 in 1993, the Siglo VI and the Behike 52, 54 and 56 in 2010, and the original Talismán in 2017.

It also fills a gap. The 2026 Habanos Festival in Havana, planned for 24–27 February, did not take place, and Habanos has set no new date (Revista E&N). Habanos’ vice-president of development, José María López Inchaurbe, called the Talismán the start of the “Cohiba Year” and said more releases would follow.

Is it the same cigar as the 2017 limited edition?

Not exactly, according to Cigar Aficionado: the earlier limited editions used darker wrappers from higher on the plant, while the regular Talismán matches the rest of the Línea Clásica and carries no Edición Limitada band. Habanos’ release doesn’t describe the wrapper.

What we’ll watch

  • When boxes of 10 reach continental European retailers, and at what price. If European shops list it, we’ll add it to the Finder.
  • Which Cohiba releases follow for the 60th anniversary.
  • Who takes over Cuban cigar imports for Sweden and the Nordics.
