About this cigar
Cohiba Robustos — tasting notes and pricing context
The Cohiba Robustos was added to the Línea Clásica in 1989 and within a decade became the benchmark every other premium Cuban robusto would be measured against. The blend uses three fermented Vuelta Abajo leaves — seco, ligero, and the proprietary medio tiempo that Cohiba reserves for its top vitolas — wrapped in a silky golden-brown corojo leaf. The first third opens with cocoa and roasted coffee, the middle drifts into cedar and a hint of toasted almond, and the last third earns the price tag with a long, leathery finish that rewards slow puffing.
Price spread across Europe is unusually wide on this SKU. A box of 25 sits around €1,930 at Germany's largest online retailer and CHF 2,040 at Switzerland's reference LCDH — meaning the Swiss box converts to roughly €2,150 after FX. Spain and Sweden, where state pricing or restrictive online frameworks apply, surface boxes between €2,000 and €2,100 equivalent. Switzerland's edge comes from a lower VAT base (8.1% vs. the EU's 19–25%) but the cross-border shipping picks up customs handling that closes the gap for most EU buyers.
